If class numbers fall short often stages are mixed 1 and 2 are taught together as is stage 2 and Advanced Babies. Advanced Babies can also be taught with New and Existing Toddlers depending on age and feedback from teacher.
Aquababies classes aim to teach adults how to teach their child correctly. We use a combination technique which is thoroughly researched:
Sensory, Learn by Play, Progressive Structure
Each week our classes have a different theme, so the teachers have aims and objectives. We are not just a nursery rhythm group, we help to educate parents in the benefits of swimming, whilst learning core safety skills.
Babies are taught with a series of lesson plans with progressive fun outcomes. Each week is different, we teach with a building block approach, with exercises of safety, water exploration & strengthening.
Stage 1 The beginning of learning to swim, each week we aim to teach the parents something new. We progress naturally to introduce underwater swims when and if they are ready.
Stage 2, A natural progression, lots more to learn through sensory simulation which helps to strengthen babies, and learn by play for parent & child.
Stage 3 Advanced babies if your baby has already been swimming and is confident, we work with you to improve your skills together.
Stage 4 & 5 all have different aims and objectives too.
Toddlers 1 & 2, can be taught together as our teachers can teach each child individually in a group. We focus on promoting coordinate swimming movements with breathing exercises, with hte aim of getting them to swim independently as soon as they are ready. Each week we have a theme, different learn by play & sensory exercises too, with the emphasis on a fun yet effective swimming program.
We believe that learning should be authentic and enjoyable, and that parents & children should play an active role in their own swim journey together.
